Maha Shivratri Muhurat - 07:06 AM to 03:46 PM

Maha Shivaratri
Celebrate the Divine Union in the City of Shiva
Mahashivratri, meaning “The Great Night of Lord Shiva,” is one of the most sacred festivals in Hindu tradition. It represents the victory of light over darkness and consciousness over ignorance. This night is considered highly auspicious for spiritual growth, self-reflection, and inner transformation. Devotees believe that the cosmic energies on Mahashivratri are especially powerful, making it an ideal time for prayer, meditation, and sadhana.

Spiritually, Mahashivratri signifies the union of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati, symbolizing the balance of divine masculine and feminine energies in the universe. It is also associated with Lord Shiva’s Tandava, the cosmic dance that governs creation, preservation, and destruction. Worshipping Shiva on this night is believed to help devotees dissolve ego, remove negativity, and move closer to higher consciousness.

Mythologically, Mahashivratri is linked to the event of Samudra Manthan, when Lord Shiva consumed poison to save the universe, holding it in his throat and earning the name Neelkanth. This act reflects self-sacrifice, compassion, and protection of all life. Observing fasts, offering bilva leaves, and performing abhishekam on this night are said to bring divine blessings, good health, peace, prosperity, and ultimately moksha (liberation).
